Atkinson Engineering's newest addition to its business is its powder coating services. Powder coating covers an object with a polyester or epoxy powder, which is then heated to fuse into a protective layer. Thermoplastic powder coating repeatedly melts when subjected to heat and solidifies when cooled. Typical examples are vinyl (PVC), nylon, and polyolefin.
